About the Project

This is a journey dedicated to highlighting and celebrating the rich tapestry of European global heritage, in particular Eastern Europe. It encompases National Parks, culture, heritage, artisans and ancient Landscapes but also the beauty of slow regenerative travel. In this journey Tom highlights a passion for outdoor activities, adventure, and cultural heritage through articles, film and photography embarking on a 5,000 km journey across Europe.

Beginning in Minsk, Belarus in March 2024 and Ending on the West Coast of France in May 2024. It covers a diverse landscapes, including of back roads, forests, coastal scenery, and majestic mountain climbs in Italy and France. The "Regenerative Routes" journey is a testament to the enduring power of slow travel, heritage exploration, and meditative ways of seeing, hearing, tasting the world. This overland bicycle tour is not just a physical journey but a profound exploration of Europe's past, present and future. From historic city of Minsk, the route winds its way past castles and forests to the oldest National Park in Europe to the crafts of the country such as Black pottery. Through Poland we explore forest cycle trails and as we journey into the farmlands of Slovakia tasting Bryndzové Halušky, renowned Folk Embroidery to Hungary's cuisine, wine, thermal baths and historic sites., We explore coastal Croatia and Montenegro heading into the back country of Albania before travelling across the leg of Italy to the Blue Zone of Sardinia. From here we ferry to France skirting the Pyrenees Mountains on the journey from Montpellier to Bordeaux the picturesque South West Coast of France.
